The New Normal – Sotogrande place for principal residences!

Like everyone else, my last few days have been awash in conversations on the subject of COVID-19 and how to respond to this pandemic.

We are all concerned simultaneously with the continuation of our businesses, and the health and well-being of our families.

Discussing with friends and former colleagues from various countries and industries, we have concluded that the future will change. And we have to prepare.

In common it is thought that:

  • What we are experiencing is the new NORMAL. At least for the next three months and perhaps until the end of 2020. Basically, many of us will work from home; we will be concerned with obtaining food and access to medicines; the way of working with clients and suppliers will be different; Displacement logistics will be very different.
  • The pandemic has presented us with a defining moment. In the future the world will have more health uncertainty in addition to the problems of climate change and what is happening now with COVID-19 is preparing us for the world of tomorrow.
  • Our future businesses necessarily have to adapt to stay relevant in this new world.

How this Coronavirus Pandemic affects Sotogrande and its residents?

If we are living a test of the reality of the future, what relevance will a real estate agency have in a luxury urbanization where the majority of homes are second homes? How will my Noll Sotogrande business survive?

We will necessarily have to adapt our proposal and adapt to the needs of our clients. If working from home, living in a less dense and populated environment than a city, and being able to enjoy an optimal climate throughout the year is an aspirational but also practical lifestyle, clearly Sotogrande will have a great future.

In fact, the infrastructure that we have in Sotogrande for the most part perfectly serves this lifestyle. Good airports, magnificent roads, powerful fibre optics, very good schools and academies, excellent food supplies, a very good medical offer and a growing offer of restaurants that would only improve as the seasonal population changed to a more permanent one.

We are all a little scared – We know that much of our heads and hearts are filled with anxiety for our grandparents or parents, and also the logistics of childcare and the work environment from home. We are also a little scared, but we will do whatever it takes to overcome this, and when the worst is over, we will face New Normal with confidence and clarity.

Thank you for reading, stay safe.
