Sotogrande during COVID-19

In the turbulent times in which we live, Sotogrande has been a refuge for many families who have found here a place to rest and forget about the past and current situation.

Sotogrande has adopted all the necessary measures to allow a healthy and calm coexistence, having, for example, the first “Safe Harbor” against the Coronavirus, having adopted a series of measures demanded by both local and national authorities and a plan of specific sustainable mobility to increase safety in a healthy environment.

However, Sotogrande has an environment of peace and relaxation that has accompanied its residents, both annual and holiday, for many years.

Sotogrande, belonging to San Roque, one of the municipalities in Andalusia with the lowest number of infections, which has had only one deceased since the beginning of the pandemic due to the management carried out since the beginning of this singular period.

Despite the large number of people who have visited the Costa del Sol to enjoy their holidays, infections during these first two weeks of August are low, worrisome to say the least, but low compared to other municipalities with 36 diagnosed by PCR in the last 14 days in San Roque compared to the 76 cases diagnosed by PCR in Estepona and the 389 cases diagnosed by PCR in Marbella.(*) These data correspond to those provided by the Junta de Andalucia and other factors such as the number of inhabitants and holiday visitors should also be taken into consideration, but they are important to understand the good place Sotogrande is in what regards to security and stability.

Sotogrande, a refuge of peace and security.
