Sotogrande homes: Do we have to sacrifice “beautiful” for “comfortable” ?

Sotogrande homes: Do we have to sacrifice “beautiful” for “comfortable” ?

Only about five weeks ago most working people spent much less time that they are currently in their homes. We slept, showered, had a quick breakfast before rushing off to work, before returning home for dinner, watch some TV and then back to sleep.

A common cycle for most people living in Sotogrande. Now, our homes need to function as an office, school, playground, movie theatre, gym, and of course for cooking, and family gatherings.

More than ever our Sotogrande homes need to provide comfort and usability.

This could create a whole new era in interior designs, where the impeccably clean, sleek, white lines, which look and feel more like public spaces, could be changed for the new luxury: comfortable and homely individuality.

Over the past years we embraced barren interior space, polished concrete floors, stone walls, all white colour palettes enhanced by industrial finishes. Today, as people are spending all day at home the trend leans toward “more is more”. So, are we going from Minimalism to Maximalism?

People want to feel safe, secure, warm and comfortable.

The “live/play/workspaces” will probably continue to grow in importance. The trend will probably go towards more customized and personal designs, which is even more challenging for interior designers, as they have to perfectly understand their clients brief, in order to create homes, that are designed with a very infused personal touch.

I think that new homes in Sotogrande will be created with a warmer feel, cosier, and more representative of the owner’s personal style, rather than a magazine’s sleek industrial look. Sotogrande homes will be places that can enhance mood and energy.

My tip for the new home style is to declutter and then add your individual decorative items that represents you and your life. Bring out your treasures from past travels, and memories of more carefree times. Use the right lighting for each room. Light can create depth, shadow, and accentuate important items. Also, bring more colour into your Sotogrande home.

There are so many possibilities, but you should not sacrifice “beautiful” for “comfortable”. Have both!

Thank you for your time and enjoy being at home!
