Sporting September 2016 in Sotogrande
Sara's Blog September 2016 If August was the month of hedonistic pleasure seeking and good old fashioned rest and relaxation, then September was the month of physical endeavor. From golf to polo, sailing to triathlons, the luxury suburb of Sotogrande has been awash with sporting achievement.

Sara's Blog August 2016

Agosto – the finest month of the year on the sunny shores of the Costa del Sol. The height of the glorious summer weather and the pinnacle of Sotogrande’s social calendar. It’s the month that both visitors and residents cannot wait for and this August has been the most fabulous I have ever witnessed.

It really is hard to know where to begin.

August 2016 – Sotogrande and it’s way of living
August 2016 – Sotogrande and it’s way of living
Sara's Blog August 2016 Easy Living in the Costa de Sol When American visionary Joseph McMicking first laid down the plans for the beautiful 4,400 acre estate of Sotogrande in 1962, I do not think even he could envisage what a spectacular success story it would become. Fitting that he should now have an important road; the Avenida Paniagua, renamed in his memory. As the memorial name stone was laid, it got me to thinking - what is the key to Sotogrande’s phenomenal appeal. It is not just the stunning way the luxurious urbanisation sits within beautiful South Andalusian countryside that brings people here in their droves. It is not just the top quality golf courses, the exciting tournaments battled on the polo fields, the bars and boats of the port or the area’s enticing beaches. It is more than that.

Opera Event in Sotogrande – 25th June 2016
Opera Event in Sotogrande – 25th June 2016

Last Saturday we experienced a truly "Magical Night of Opera" in Sotogrande. Patricia Darch and her team organised this Charity Event to raise funds for children with cancer, especially for leukaemia research. The money raised throughout the event went to the Josep Carrera Foundation. The Opera Stars: Stefanie Kemball-Read, Aurore Lacabe, Nick Ransley and James Cleverton performed aria pieces of Rigoletto, Die Zauberflöte, Don Govanni, La Traviata, Carmen... to name a few. The evening was a first class event from start to finish. The performance of the arias inspired me to visit the Madrid or Seville Operas. Looking forward to many more events in Sotogrande!
